Just over
two years since entering the international market with our lively consumer-driven
brands, our wines are found in over 13 international markets. Our quality
products, unique branding and exceptional service levels has also seen
us signing distribution deals with some of the most respected agencies
in the global wine business including Langguth in Germany and Kingsland Wines
and Spirits in Britain.
With three
production facilities in South Africa's famous Breede River wine-producing
area, Overhex Wines International's annual production is in the region
of 25 million litres of wine. Substantial volumes build and drive high-profile
and consumer-driven brands, with service being a key element. At Overhex,
the customer and the end-consumer come first, while quality is non-negotiable.
Vineyards
Our cellars are uniquely situated between the Cape's winter and summer
rainfall regions. Here, semi-arid Karoo conditions combined with a moderate
climate, the prevailing winds, cool night temperatures and rich soils
create an ideal, natural environment for the cultivation of low yields
of high quality, flavourful wine grapes. The dry and windy conditions
in our region reduce the need to apply chemicals in the vineyards, thus
facilitating biological cultivation.
We
also source and crush grapes from South Africa's most famous wine-making
regions, including Stellenbosch, Paarl, Malmesbury, Franschhoek, Vredendal,
Worcester, Robertson and Wellington.

Winemaking
In our state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, our winemaking teams use
the most modern technology to capture the essence of each varietal. Yes,
we want to express the uniqueness of South African nature in the vineyards.
But this does not help if the grapes are not vinified in accordance with
the most effective cellar practices.
Apart from our established brands, flexibility and a willingness to listen
to the market and our customers is part of our business strategy, not
just a sidebar. We will continue to provide wines that reflect the quality
obtainable from South Africa, but tailored for the markets - internationally
and also in our own country where we have just signed a number of major
deals with retailers.
